Shaun Edwards OBE
Shaun has had two rugby careers. His first spanned from 1983 to 2000 as a hugely successful rugby league player. Since then he has become one of the country's most successful rugby union coaches. All but three seasons of his playing career were spent with the all conquering Wigan team with which he won a record 9 Challenge Cup winners medals. He won 40 major trophies in total and once scored 10 ten tries in one match vs Swinton. He represented England 17 times and Great Britain on 36 occasions. One of his key attributes as a player was his incredible fitness levels which enabled him to be everywhere on the field and be such a prolific try scorer.
Since joining Wasps in 2001 as assistant coach (and currently head coach) Wasps have won 4 premiership titles (including 2007-8) and 2 Heineken Cups. He was also Welsh assistant coach as he and Warren Gatland steered Wales to the 2008 Grand Slam and he is on the coaching staff for the Lions Tour in 2009. He has been described by Matt Dawson as "the best coach in the world" remains an avid fitness fanatic regularly undertaking the same training as the players.
