FAQs
Why is it called TRiline Fitness?
It has been launched by rugby specific marketing and management company Triline sports (Tls) in conjunction with specialist conditioning and physiotherapy practice - Optimum. There are three levels or lines to the rugby fitness based programme - beginner (line 1), intermediate (line 2), advanced (line 3).
Isn't rugby training too hardcore for most people?
Looking at the size and power of some of the players you could be forgiven for thinking this. However we are not focusing on heavy weights programmes which are largely responsible for those huge physiques. The objectives are to offer the training techniques used by players but on the level suitable to every ability of participant. The emphasis is very much on exploring one's own boundaries.
What is different about it?
It is outdoor, will be like personal training in groups and is focused on the conditioning exercises (except heavy weights and team moves) undertaken by professional rugby athletes. It is also initially due to run only during the (theoretically) better months of the year ie April to September. You will leave each session wanting more and then look forward to sessions starting as we exit each winter.
Why is it based on rugby?
Rugby has two different codes which demand very different fitness and conditioning techniques so it is based on conditioning for at least two sports not one. Between both of these every type of training is encompassed including resistance, aerobic, anaerobic, interval, dynamic stretching, fartlek, boxing and much more. People who do not believe that top rugby players are not fantastic athletes are not numerous!
What will I expect when I first turn up?
Friendly staff, detailed induction, goal setting, inspiration and (most definitely) fun.
Will I get any other information?
You will receive information on nutrition, supplementation, stretching, training zones, injury management, motivation techniques and much more!
How long should I join classes for in order to benefit ?
We believe that from week one you will benefit from involvement and recommend that every 6 weeks you have an appraisal session to re-assess what you want to get out of the programme.
Can I try before I buy?
We would actually prefer that you do. If you don't enjoy yourself at the introductory session there is no obligation to come again and if you do then we simply request that you sign up to at least 6 sessions at £7.50 (£45) to be taken over the following 10 weeks. On enrolment you will have a goodie bag to take away including a t-shirt and waterbottle and advice literature. We accept payment by credit card or cheque.
